Chingthur Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the sustainable development of marginalized communities through multiple capacity-building initiatives. Since 2022, we have focused on empowering the community of Kingniu Village in Nagaland with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary for long-term positive impact. Our capacity-building program includes various aspects aimed at bringing together a resilient and self-sustaining community.
Training to Communities: We provide extensive training to community members on sustainable practices and techniques. This includes practical sessions on resource mapping, which helps communities identify and utilize their local resources efficiently.
Accounts Training: Proper financial management is crucial for sustainable development. Our training ensures that community members can manage funds effectively, maintain transparency, and support local economic activities.
Vegetable Farming Training: Our training programs in vegetable farming equip community members with modern agricultural techniques. This not only boosts local food production but also ensures food security and nutritional improvement within the village.
Crafts Training: We provide training on various crafts, including bamboo crafts and weaving, to help preserve traditional skills and create new economic opportunities. These training sessions aim to enhance the quality of artisanal products and develop sustainable market linkages.
Scientific Organic Farming and SALT: Our programs include training in scientific organic farming methods and Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT). These techniques promote sustainable agriculture, improve soil health, and increase crop yields, contributing to long-term environmental and economic benefits.
Climate Change Awareness: Raising awareness about climate change is essential for fostering a proactive community. We conduct educational sessions and workshops to inform community members about the impacts of climate change and the importance of sustainable practices in mitigating these effects.
Health Awareness: We prioritize health education by organizing training sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare. This empowers community members to adopt healthier lifestyles and improve overall well-being.
Strengthening Existing Community Institutions: We focus on fortifying the existing community institutions such as the village council, self-help groups (SHGs), and youth/women groups. By providing targeted support and training, we enhance their capacity to lead and manage community development initiatives effectively. This includes leadership training, organizational management, and strategic planning to ensure these institutions can drive sustainable development within Kingniu Village.
